Westbridge / Conversation preparation note
Describe the situation in everyday terms
When a relative or another vulnerable person needs support, begin with their circumstances and the practical issue that has prompted your enquiry. Include who is involved and the decision you want to discuss.
The language does not need to be technical. A clear account of the person and their needs is a useful foundation for a conversation.
Questions to bring
- What decision or support need is being discussed?
- Who is currently helping the person?
- Are there existing documents or upcoming meetings?
Identify the questions you need answered
Keep a short list of the uncertainties you want to explore, including communication with relatives and other organisations. Note any relevant dates without including sensitive medical details in an initial website message.
The team can discuss the appropriate scope of support after understanding the circumstances. The process and available options depend on the individual situation and relevant jurisdiction.
